Kane County, the last collar county to operate a mass COVID-19 vaccination site, has closed the doors at its Batavia vaccination hub after administering 114,433 doses of the coronavirus vaccine. Michael Isaacson, executive director of the Kane County Health Department, said they’ve moved out of the former Sam’s Club warehouse after opening the doors on the vaccination hub there in March 2021. “We are monitoring the uptake on vaccines and looking at where in the community we need to give a special push,” Isaacson said, adding that with the closure of the vaccination hub they will instead host smaller clinics, … Read more

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Clinton-Massie suffered its first SBAAC loss of the season Thursday as Batavia visited Frank Irelan Field and came away with a 2-1 win. The win gives the Bulldogs the American Division championship with a 9-0-1 record. BHS is 11-4-1 overall. Clinton-Massie finishes 4-1-5 in the division and is 8-2-6 in all matches. BATAVIA — The Red Cross said Wednesday that it has 28 extra pints of blood thanks to a blood drive set up with the Batavia City School District Community Schools program. “That included five Power Red donors — five people gave 10 units of blood. Every unit of blood can save up to three people’s lives.
